You will also have to set aside time to go shopping, make food and clean up.
Just a few other considerations. Having done both, I would do the meal plan again. The second tier one 2 snacks, 1 quick service meal and 1 table service meal each day was great for our first time. We booked all our character meals days out and were able to avoid wanting in long lines to meet characters throughout our days in the park.
To me, this was a huge value of the meal plan. Otherwise we would have spent a couple of hours every day meeting different characters that we saw included in our meal plan.
